Floral Trend on the High Street

As you all know on Saturday I carried out my first shoot as part of my course with London School of Styling. The brief of the shoot was head-to-toe floral look for editorial styling. I had to think bright, bold & colourful! I was so excited for this challenge and quickly started carrying out plenty of research, all of which is shown on my styling instagram page @styledbysaraelizabeth 

I found plenty of references to floral inspiration on the runway. But unfortunately the runway price tags was not something I could afford in order to dress the models for shoot, and so I took to the fabulous British high street. Here are a few of the outfits that I found that I believe covered the “head-to-toe flora” brief….

Stylist Emergency SOS Kit

Today is my first shoot as part of my course, I'm so exited! However at the same time I keep thinking "omg what if something breaks, what if it goes wrong." Which got me thinking, at some point in every stylist's career there will be an occasion where they are on set and have a little situation…a zip broke, outfit too small, threads hanging off etc etc. There will be that wild manic of ‘WHAT THE HELL DO I DO?!’ This is where a little go to DIY SOS supply kit comes in. Do not fear lads and ladies I have you covered. Every stylist needs their own little emergency supply kit on hand ready for those moments we did not see coming...

Here is what I think should belong in every kit:

- scissors 

- lint rollers

- bull dog clips

- measuring tape

- notepad & pen

- mini sewing kit/needle & thread

- pins

- safety pins

- hair grips

- boob tape

- bra converter

These are literally my ideal perfect pair of loafers! I reckon I'll spend the next 5 days waiting for payday doing the classic routine of.... "Do I treat myself?" "Sara you need to save" "Oh but you deserve a nice treat"

Back to being a student again...

So not sure if many of you know but last month I was accepted onto a Styling course with the London School of Styling. I felt that like I needed to get back into all things fashion related and find my motivation and passion so that I did not get stuck into a dead end job rather than follow my dreams. Yesterday was my first day...

It was a great first day, I absolutely loved every second of it. So the first day was theory based where we learnt all the basics such as staple wardrobe items, colour wheel, life cycle of a trend, the various roles of various types of stylist etc. The course is a more hands on course in the sense that only 2 sessions are theory the rest are all on set doing a shoot or assisting on shoots. In the next few days we should receive our first brief for our first shoot, the theme in Personal Styling. I'm really excited to get this and start planning all my ideas. I can't wait to share this all with you.

I Scrub Up Well....

Now it is very rare for me to do a beauty post as naturally I love all things fashion and leave all the makeup etc to my sister (FYI one of the best beauticians & MUAs I know).  However when I do a beauty post then you know it is the real deal and I can't get enough of the product. Well you're in luck...today I found the best body scrub I have ever come across. Now girls if you're like me and feel like your whole life is million times better with a tan, then you know the struggle of trying to get the old layer of fake tan off before applying the new fresh one. We've all been there! So welcome along my new best friend..."I scrub up well" exfoliating body scrub by a brand called Kiss which is exclusive to Wilko. Yes Wilko! For the bargain price of £2. It smells fantastic, leave my skin so clean and fresh but still so soft. No red scubbed off sore skin.
