Personal Styling Shoot

So yesterday I was back on shoot again, this time the concept was personal styling make over shoot. We were told to bring someone we knew and style them for two different looks for different occasions. I chose a wedding look & an office meeting look, two completely different looks so hoping this would show variety in my portfolio. I asked my lovely friend Chloe to be my model, the girl is so photogenic and just looks great in everything, perfect! Our shoot location was at the Simulacra studios in Brixton with the incredible Holly Broomhall as shoot photographer. Each model had a before picture taken then was whisked off for a pamper session in hair and makeup. The glam squad were amazing!

So the first look is an office look. I didn't want to go for the typical black suit or black dress. I opted for some tailored culottes and a frill blouse. Teamed with a simple gold necklace and pointed stilettos.

Trousers: Missguided
Blouse: Boohoo
Shoes: Primark
Necklace: Primark

Look number 2 was for a wedding, I was so excited for this one as I am currently planning my own wedding so fitted in quite well. I literally fell in love with this dress! The material was just perfect, the style and cut was just ahhhhh. Everything about this dress I just loved! I accessorised with simple yet elegant jewellery.

Dress: Missguided
Shoes: model's own
Bracelet: Primark
Earrings: River Island
Necklace: Borrowed (stolen) from my mum's jewellery box

Look how beautiful this print is up close!!

So Chloe and I got a bit carried away and found it difficult to find a fav look so we decided to play dress up and take some pics on our phones out in the garden. This little blue crotchet number is from Boohoo, fab little bargain! I want one for me

Floral Trend on the High Street

As you all know on Saturday I carried out my first shoot as part of my course with London School of Styling. The brief of the shoot was head-to-toe floral look for editorial styling. I had to think bright, bold & colourful! I was so excited for this challenge and quickly started carrying out plenty of research, all of which is shown on my styling instagram page @styledbysaraelizabeth
I found plenty of references to floral inspiration on the runway. But unfortunately the runway price tags was not something I could afford in order to dress the models for shoot, and so I took to the fabulous British high street. Here are a few of the outfits that I found that I believe covered the “head-to-toe flora” brief….

Missguided

Now every girl has an undenying love for our favourite online store Missguided, the only thing that we could love more than an online Missguided shopping spree would be for an actual in store shopping spree. No more waiting for your parcel to arrive or having to order a few sizes as you're unsure of the fit. Well ladies if you head up to Selfridges in Manchester's Trafford centre you are in for a treat! Yes you guessed correctly, there is a Missguided pop up concessions in Selfridges!!!! HEAVEN! So back in Novemeber I took a very long road trip up the M6 to spend the weekend in Manchester and have a lil (understatement of the year) shopping spree. I absolutely loved this concession, I always think you get a better understanding of a brand when you see how they present and display themselves.  In terms of visual merchandising it ticked all my boxes. It was nice to be able to touch the clothes and feel the texture of the fabrics rather than waiting for your little bundle of joy to arrive in the post. Now although the online store has a wider variety of stock I still think Missguided should invest in putting a few more pop up concessions around the country

Nicole Scherzinger for Missguided

When I heard about Nicole doing a collab with Missguided I thought it would be over the top and Malibu Barbie type of look.  I couldn't be more wrong! I love it all! The colour pallette is perfect; black, white and cobalt blue. The textures; leather and fishnet. It's just beautiful I can't decide which piece to buy first.
