Louboutin: The Worlds Most Luxurious Shoes

"A women carries her clothes but the shoe carries the women"

Christian Louboutin, the man who made me obsessed with shoes and very poor! I've always adored the work of Christian Louboutin, I think his shoes are absolutely incredible, a dream would be to have my own shoe room filled top to bottom with his signature red sole beauties. Last night Channel 4 showed a docuementary which gave an insight to the world of Louboutin and I was hooked.

The documentary showed various aspects of the design process as well as parts of Christian's life. Christian's initial obsessions with shoes dates back to old films, one in particularly where a guy was locked in a basement and all he could see through a small window was the shoes and ankles of the women walking by outside. Throughout the documentary we see a few snippets of Paris Fashion week along with the shoe factory production centre in Milan. What I found most interesting was his trip to the Himalayas where he is working on a potential collection of wooden block heels that are manufactured, carved and painted by the locals in the Himalayas.

Christian comes across as a very humble, genuine guy. I found it intriguing the way in which he describes shoes and the way a women sees a pair of shoes.  I think he is spot on when it comes to the relationships between women and shoes "When a woman buys a pair of shoes, she never looks at the shoe. She stands up and looks in the mirror, she looks at the breast, the ass, from the front, from the side, blah blah blah. If she likes herself, then she considers the shoe."
