Amsterdam: Adventure List

So the reason I didn't post over the weekend was because I was away in Amsterdam for my boyfriend's (feels weird saying Fiancee) birthday. Such an incredible city with a fun vibe! I visited Amsterdam about 7 years ago with a group of girls but it was more a wine/clubbing adventure for us so not a lot of sight seeing was done. So nice to go back and explore the city properly. As always I've made a little things of recommendations to help you all with future visits...

Things to do & sights to see:
- canal boat tour
- Anne Frank House
- Royal Palace of Amsterdam
- Rembrandt Square
- Dam Square
-St Nicholas Church
-Rijksmuseaum
- walk down red light district
- Look Out Tower Swing
- Hire bikes to cycle around the city & Vondel Park

Food & Drinks
Okay so an absolute must must must try pancake from The Happy Piggy Pancake shop. So yummy!! I loved a cafe called Lost in Amsterdam, the longest milkshake and cocktail menu I have seen and all taste so delicious! Dinner recommendations I'd defiantly say La Perla for a home made stone baked oven pizza. Head to the W hotel to their rooftop bar and restaurant Mr Porter. Juicy steaks and delicious cocktails with a sunset view to die for!  The Hilton Sky Lounge bar next to Central Station also has great drinks and amazing views of the city

Tips & Tricks
- Stay at a hotel in canal ring area then you are close to everything
- You can get a train direct from Schipnol airport to the central station in Amsterdam for 5 euro rather than paying out 25-30euro for a taxi
- From Central Station you can get a free ferry across to the Eye & Look Out Tower

Vintage Knit

A chunky warm knitted jumper or cardigan is perfect now for the freezing winter months so I extremely was excited when it was time to drag mine out of my wardrobe. Last year I went to Amsterdam for a weekend with some friends and managed to find the perfect winter cardy at a cute little flea market, for a mere €8 I couldn't really say no! I love the patchwork detailing and the glitter thread used to run through.

Not only are the flea markets amazing in Amsterdam but they have amazing little vintage and retro stores scattered around the city. I honestly recommend a visit as the city itself is so beautiful and so chilled out, which is a complete contrast to hectic London!
